Never Open E-Mails From Dead GirlsDate Added: July 14, 2004
For decades, chain letters (yes, they used to be on paper) have included warnings that something terrible would happen to you if you broke the chain. While their technology and transmission methods have matured, the messages have not. my name is jane.....i am 7 years old with black hair and red eyes. i have no nose or ears.... i am dead. if you do not send this 15 people in the next 5 minutes i will appear tonight by your bed with a knife and kill you.. this is no joke Something good will happen to u 2nite at 9:22. This is not a joke some1 will either call u or will talk to u online and say that they love u. do not break no send bak sorry! --- My name is jenna.....i am 7 years old with blonde hair and scary eyes. i have no nose or ears.... i am dead. if you do not send this 15 people in the next 5 minutes i will appear tonight by your bed with a knife and kill you.. this is no joke Something good will happen to u 2nite at 9:22. This is not a joke some1 will either call u or will talk to u online and say that they love u. do not break! --- a girl named Jessica went online she started talkin to another girl. it started out normally......... Jessica: Hey person.
The Next Day... Jessica woke up in the mornin after sendin a copy of her conversation to 15 people. She went into her bathroom and turned on the lights. She looked into her mirror and all of a sudden, the lights went out. She looked into the mirror and saw a person standing next to her with a long blood covered knife. She was holding it up over Jessica's head. Jessica looked around and felt around but felt nobody else in the room. She turned around and turned on the lights. She turned around and there was no person beside her or in the mirror anymore. Then she looked on the ground and saw something red. She bent down and felt it. It was wet and looked like blood. Bloody Mary didn't hurt Jessica only because she sent the e-mail to 15 other people. Now you have to too or Bloody Mary might get you. Send it to 14 or lower people, and you never know what might happen... After you send it instead of clicking OK hit alt. and then F4 you will see a mysterious picture of Bloody Mary As I read these, I keep thinking that I should break out the marshmallows and create a camp fire. What we have here is the 21st-century scary story, this time frightening the bejesus out of one individual at a time, instead of an entire group of hormone-tortured adolescents all at once. Scary stories are the root of urban legend. Superstition preys on fear, thus science and fact are typically ineffective at allaying underlying anxieties. But, I'm going to try, anyway. Technologically, it is impossible for a third party to track an e-mail or instant message in the manner described above. Unless, of course, you're willing to believe that ghosts have perfected e-mail tracking in the "other world." Even though most of us are skeptical that a dead girl could actually use IM or e-mail to stalk unsuspecting netizens, we send chains like this anyway. While some actually fear that what is warned could come true, many of us send them on "for fun," and reason that they can't hurt anything. But they can. E-mail and Instant Messaging are not secure communications mediums. When you send e-mail, for example, the addresses of everyone you are sending to are included in the header. I have seen copies of chain letters like those above that contained literally thousands of e-mail addresses in the header. The next time you hear somebody complain that they get too much e-mail, ask them if they send or receive a lot of chain letters - that could be a contributor. Break this chain. References: None |
